Section I - Hardware Installation The OkiLAN 6120e Print Server enables Ethernet network users to connect to a printer with an OKI SIDM port. The OkiLAN 6120e supports 10/100-megabit networks and most popular network operating systems and SIDM printers. Removing the OkiLAN 6120e Before using the parallel port, you must remove the OkiLAN 6120e from the printer. 1. Turn off printer power. 2. Unplug the power cord. 3. Section I - Hardware Installation 4. Unplug the power adapter from the wall outlet. Then unplug the power adapter wire from the power jack on the OkiLAN 6120e. 5. Slide the OkiLAN 6120e out of the printer and store it in a safe place for future network requirements. 6. Attach the interface cable to the parallel interface connector. Section I - Hardware Installation Re-installing the OkiLAN 6120e To use your printer on a network, you must re-install the OkiLAN 6120e. 1. Turn off printer power. 2. Unplug the power cord. 3. Detach the interface cable from the rear of the printer. 4. Insert the OkiLAN 6120e by sliding it along the rails in the recess of the printer, until it is plugged into the socket in the rear of the recess. Section I - Hardware Installation 5. Plug the power adapter wire into the power jack on the OkiLAN 6120e. Then plug the power adapter into a 120 VAC wall outlet. Please note that some countries may require a different adapter for local voltages, such as 240 VAC. 6. Attach the 10/100Base-T UTP cable to the recep- tacle on the back of the OkiLAN 6120e.
