Liquid Crystal Display Located at the top of the control panel, the two–line LCD does the following: • Displays printer status and fault codes. Indicators The three indicators on the control panel display the current operational status of the printer. ON LINE ON LINE lights when the printer is online, or when the printer is ready to print and accept data from the host. It flashes when the printer is offline. When the printer stops because of an error, the printer goes offline and the ON LINE light flashes. CHECK CHECK flashes when the printer is unavailable for printing because of an internal fault condition. J

Function Keys The pressure–sensitive function keys ON LINE are located directly below the LCD. When pressing the keys, you will hear a “beep” (also known as the “panel key PREV UP DOWN NEXT sound”), which verifies contact. To ensure that the printer will start at the top of a page, check the following: • The leading edge should be straight; not torn, crooked, or curled. • The leading edge of the paper should not extend beyond the tractors.
