In the event of a power overload, the inverter is designed to automatically shut down. This safety feature prevents damaging the inverter while testing devices and equip- ment within the 1500-watt range. If a device will not operate properly when first connected to the inverter, turn the inverter rocker switch o N (I), o FF (o ), and o N (I) again in quick succession. Grounding the PI-1500 To avoid electrical shock, it is necessary to ground the PI-1500 Inverter as well as the device powering it. The inverter should be grounded using #8 AWG copper wire (not included). Note: d o not turn on the inverter or the power source until the inverter and the power source are grounded. 1. Connecting Inverter Cables The inverter and the power source must be in the o FF mode. Inverter Connection: 1. l ocate the positive and negative plastic terminals located on the left side of the inverter. Using a flathead or standard screwdriver, unscrew the positive (red) and negative (black) terminal screws just enough to be able to insert the bare end of the connector cables. 2. Using GFCI o utlet The GFCI (Ground Fault Interrupter) must be tested before each use. To test: 1. Turn the inverter o N. 2. Push the "ReSeT" button located on the GFCI receptacle, first to assure normal GFCI operation. 3. Plug a nightlight (with an "o N/o FF" switch) or other product (such as a lamp) into the GFCI receptacle and turn the product "o N." 4. Push the "TeST" button located on the GFCI receptacle. Blown Fuse A blown fuse is usually caused by reverse polarity or a short circuit within the device or equipment being operated.
