VII. STEP 7 — INSTALL THERMOSTAT These systems use a 3-speed thermostat. The thermostat monitors the system operation and controls the operating mode. The DFB logic checks the 10-minute defrost timer and the DFT. If the DFT opens in less than 10 minutes, the DFB switches the unit back to normal heating operation. If the DFT remains closed, the DFB switches the unit back to heating operation after 10 minutes. III. CLEAN INDOOR UNIT BOTTOM PANEL If the bottom panel of the unit becomes dirty or smudged, wipe the outside of the panel with a soft dry cloth. Use a mild liquid detergent and wipe off carefully with a dry cloth. IV. CLEAN INDOOR COIL To clean the coil, remove indoor unit bottom panel and vac- uum the coil fins, using care not to bend or damage fins. V. CLEAN OUTDOOR COIL (OUTDOOR UNIT) WARNING: Some metal parts and sharp fins of outdoor unit coil can cause personal injury during cleaning.
