Quick Setup
This guide walks you through the installation of your SnapGear
appliance. Installing your SnapGear appliance into a well planned
network is quick and easy. However, network planning and design is
outside the scope of this guide. Please take some time to plan your
network prior to installing your SnapGear appliance.

Common VPN Scenarios Generally there are two common scenarios in which you will want to set up your SnapGear appliance(s): • LAN-to-LAN: Linking two branch offices across the Internet. For this case we recommend using IPSec. The SnapGear VPN can operate with both static and dynamic public (Internet) IP addresses. For the example below we assume SnapGear appliances are installed at either end, and both have a static public IP address, or one is static and one is dynamic. The example
