Controlling Your Alarm System Users Each person who uses the system is described as a ‘User’ and can have their own unique identity, in the form of a PIN code, prox tag or wireless keyfob, or a combination of all three. Keypads There are two types of keypad available as shown below but both work in a similar manner. The number buttons are for entering PIN codes and for changes options. The function keys down the side have the following use: A>: This scrolls forward in a list or menu and activates a FULL set. B<: This scrolls backwards in a list or menu and activates a PART or NIGHT set. ent: This saves a current setting or activates the currently displayed command. esc: This aborts an operation or escapes back

Wireless Keyfobs Keyfobs are portable controllers that can be attached to a key ring. They will allow you to Set and Unset the system by a single press of a button and can sometimes be programmed with additional functions. Because they operate by radio, they can be used anywhere around the premises provided that they are within range of the installed radio receiver. Setting with Faults Normally, if there is a fault of any kind on the system, setting will not be permitted until the fault is rectified. However, depending on the set-up of your system and the level of your user access, it may be possible override a fault and proceed with the setting procedure. Cancelling an Alarm The process for cancelling an alarm is similar to unsetting the system. However, if a wireless keyfob or prox tag has been used, the alarms must be viewed on a keypad by typing in a user code and following the on-screen instructions. Only certain users are able to reset the system following an alarm condition. You installer will inform you which users have this ability. Setting and Unsetting Groups It is possible to split the alarm system into separate areas or ‘Groups’ that can be set and unset independently. Different users can be given access to only certain groups, or to all groups. Also, individual users can be given the option of simply setting and unsetting all groups assigned to their code or choosing which groups to set or unset each time. Menu 11 - Omit Zones This function allows a user to temporarily disable a detection zone from the system (for example, to disable a movement detector when a dog is left in the house). Menu 22 - View Log This option displays the system event log. The log records all events that occur in the system and is vital for tracing the chain of events during a break-in or when trying to trace a fault.
