16 Using the Flash OK/menu button The flash has been designed to fire automatically when shooting under low light or against strong back light. 17 Zooming in on a Subject (Digital Zoom) You can shoot telephoto images by varying the magnification up to 2X. At 1X, the image taken by the camera is equivalent to an image taken with a compact camera (35 mm film) using a 35mm lens, but digital zoom allows you to shoot a zoomed-in image equivalent to that shot using a 70 mm lens.
