1 Getting Started Install the Software First It is important to install the KODAK EASYSHARE Software on your computer before you connect the camera to the computer or attempt to transfer pictures. Chapter 1 Attaching the Wrist Strap 1 Thread the short loop of the strap through the wrist strap post. 2 Thread the long end of the strap through the short loop. Pull until secure. Attaching the Lens Cap 1 Thread the lens cap string through the loop in the wrist strap as shown. 2 Put the lens cap on the lens. Depress the tabs on the lens cap, fit the cap on the lens, and release the tabs. To protect the lens, put the lens cap on whenever you are not taking pictures. 4

ON OFF Chapter 1 Turning the Camera On and Off 1 Slide the On/Off switch to the On position. Chapter 1 Selecting a Language You can display menus and screen messages in different languages. The Language screen is automatically displayed the first time you turn on the camera. If this is the first time the camera has been turned on, go to step 4. Chapter 1 Inserting an MMC/SD Card Optional MMC/SD cards provide removable, reusable storage for pictures. CAUTION: The card can only be inserted one way; forcing it may damage the camera or card. Chapter 1 Choosing Internal Memory or MMC/SD Card The camera offers two options for storing pictures: Internal Memory—store up to 14 pictures (at Best quality) in the 16 MB internal memory. Chapter 1 Camera Modes The camera has four modes: Capture, Review, Share, and Setup. You can always tell which mode the camera is in: Capture —the LCD is blank, no image Capture is displayed.
