Preparing to Take Pictures Before you can start taking pictures, you need to install the batteries or connect a KODAK AC Adapter (Cat# 122-0557) for power. The AC adapter is available as an accessory from a dealer of KODAK products or from our Web site at http:// www.kodak.com/go/accessories. Your camera offers 2 MB of internal memory for picture storage. This internal memory retains pictures even if the power supply is interrupted. Turning the Camera On and Off Turn the camera on and off using the Power/Mode switch, located on the back of the camera. To turn the camera on in the Capture mode (to take pictures), set the Power/ Mode switch to the position. Setting the Flash Use the flash when taking pictures at night, indoors, or outdoors in heavy shadows. Your camera has three different flash options and a range of 8 ft (2.4 m), to accommodate most picture-taking situations. WARNING: Never use the flash while the camera is close to the eyes of the subject, especially young children. Intense light from the flash can cause permanent eye damage if used too close to the eyes. When using the flash, the camera should be at least 5 ft (1.5 m) away

Adjusting the Picture Quality Your camera compresses pictures according to the picture quality setting. If you intend to make large prints, you can capture more detail in the picture using the Best setting (but you will use more space in the internal memory or on a Picture Card).
