1 • Introduction Postal Requirements Your postage meter is issued under the oversight of the Canada Post Corporation (CPC) and you must follow some basic requirements. • Mail must have the correct date and postage amount in the me- ter stamp (indicia). • Metered mail must bear the postal code of the address where the postage meter is located and mail processed. • If you move the postage meter to another postal code location, you must update postal code. For your protection, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to per- sons.
