Introduction 7 Scope of Functions The scope of functions described here is only completely usable with a professional ☞ installation and a correct configuration of the PBX and the connected PC. Introduction 9 Commissioning Connect the rechargeable Battery Put the handset with the display downwards on your palm. Open the protective cover app. 5 mm by sliding it with the thumb of the same hand (pic. 1). Then lift the cover and take it away from the device (pic. 2). Connect the battery plug to the jack in the rechargeable bat- pic. 3 tery compartment. Introduction 11 Subscribe to a Basestation Before you can make a call, the handset has to be subscribed to a basestation and con- figured with the configuration program of the PBX. This is described in detail in the man- ual of the basestation. If the telephone is subscribed and in range you ☞ will see on the left side of the display the sign: . 12 Protect your system telephone against dirt, dust and moisture. If a cleaning is necessary, wipe the casing with a lightly damp cloth or use an antistatic cloth. 14 Control the Capacity of the Rechargeable Batteries To get a correct capacity status, the handset has to be at least one hour outside of the desktop charger. If there are less than three full bars, the battery has to be recharged.
Call the main menu. Search for the menu „Battery“. Open the menu. The capacity of the battery is shown. Exit from this display.

16 Menu Key From the idle state this key switches to the main menu for different settings. In case of opened/activated menu (settings, telephone book etc.) this key switches into the state of inactivity. Left Arrow Key From the idle state this key switches into caller/redial list. While entering a telephone number (dialing preparation/telephone book) a short activation of the key deletes the last digit. Holding the key (app. 3 seconds) deletes the whole telephone number. General Description of the Telephone Use 17 Alt Key This key enables a disconnect during switching functions. R Key (Query Key) In a call this key enables the introduction of query calls, alternation or transfers. Hook Key Before or after the dialing of a telephone number an activation of this key starts the call. In the conversation or call status an activation of this key cancels the call. If the device is switched off, a longer activation (app. 1 second) switches it on again. Keypad

18 Switching on/off the Device If you do not need to use the handset from time to time, you are able to switch it off entirely (Rechargeable battery economy mode). Press the OK key for app. 4 seconds. The switching off will be confirmed by a short tone. Now you cannot be reached with the handset any longer. Make a Call 19 MAKE A CALL Accept a Call If the telephone number was entered into the telephone book of your system telephone, the telephone number with the corresponding name will be shown on the display - as soon as the telephone has recognized the number. Press the hook key. Dial the requested telephone number (external numbers with exchange line access number). ##$%#),+##(# # When you finish to dial the number, the subscriber will be called. In case of an external telephone number do not forget to enter the exchange line access ☞ number „0“ (Exception: Direct exchange line telephone; see page 28).
