Step 3 Preparing the battery pack Charge the battery pack for more than 12 hours before you start using your cordless handset. 1 Slide open the battery compartment lid of the cordless handset. Getting Started About the station number When you start charging the battery, “HANDSET 1” HANDSET 1 appears on the display of the cordless handset. This shows the ID number for each cordless handset and base unit of the system, called “station number.” The station NEW OLD MASSAGE RING OFF number of the base unit is set to 0 and that of the cordless handset (supplied with the base unit) is set to 1 at the factory. Step 4 Choosing the dialing mode For the telephone to work properly, select an appropriate dialing mode (tone or pulse). Setting the dialing mode is only possible on the cordless handset. Make sure the base unit* is not in use before you start the setting.
