III. EMI/RFI Are all powered wheelchairs susceptible to EMI/RFI? Each make and model of chair differs in its ability to resist electromagnetic interference. That is, each has a particular level of “immunity” to interference, measured in volts per meter (V/m). A higher immunity level offers greater protection. IV. THE J AZZY 1400 UTILITY TRAY The utility tray is located on the rear of your Jazzy 1400. See figure 5. A section of the utility tray is exposed through the body shroud. The utility tray consists of the ammeter, the battery charger lead, charger fuses, the main circuit breaker, light connectors (optional equipment), and the controller connectors. IV. THE J AZZY 1400 To put the Jazzy 1400 in freewheel mode: At the top of the freewheel/drive-motor lever is a release switch. To lift the freewheel/drive-motor lever, hold the lever while pressing the release switch with your thumb. Lift up on the lever. If the lever is difficult to move, rock your Jazzy back and forth slightly. The lever should then move to the desired position. With the lever in the raised position, let go of the release switch. IV. THE J AZZY 1400 ACTIVE-TRAC SYSTEM Your Jazzy 1400 is equipped with an Active-Trac System (ATS). ATS is a suspension system designed to make your Jazzy traverse different types of terrain and obstacles while maintaining smooth operation. VI. COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS FOOTREST HEIGHT (OPTIONAL) The footrest height is easily adjusted to one of six different heights, in 2.54-cm increments. To raise or lower the footrest: 1. Remove the 3/8-in. bolt and nut from the footrest. See figure 21. 2. Raise or lower the footrest to the desired height. 3. Install the 3/8-in. bolt and nut into the footrest and tighten.
