operating instructions Your Clayton Furnace is capable of burning Wood or Coal. WOOD BURNING: (1)use Hardwood, 18" to 26", split and air dried (seasoned) for six months. (2) set thermostat to "HIGH" before opening feed door. (3) add wood to a convenient level. BURNING COAL: Clayton Furnaces are capable of burning Bituminous coal and Anthracite coal. Anthracite is perhaps the best coal fuel because its long even burn time, high heat output, and cleanliness make it a good choice for the home.
