4. AC POWER CORD CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS 4.1 The charger must be groundedto reduce the risk of electric shock. The charger is equipped with an electriccord having an equipment grounding conductor and a grounding plug. 6. DC CONNECTION PRECAUTIONS 6.1 All switches should beset in OFF ( O) positionand the AC cord should be disconnected from the electrical outlet beforeyou connect and disconnect the charger clamps. Never allow the clamps totouch each other. 6.2 When attaching the charger clamps, be certain tomake the best possible mechanical as well as electrical connection. 9.3 RATE/VOLTAGE SELECTOR SWITCH The chargerhas a RATE/VOLTAGE selector switch, locatedat the top center of the charger whichcontrols the voltage and current. 9.5 OVERLOAD PROTECTION The charger uses an output circuit breaker and a thermal breakerto prevent overheating and damage to the charger and the vehicle. If after repeated starting attempts, the charger does not indicate any output on its meter, it may be because one ofthe two breakers has opened. 11. BATTERY CHARGING 11.1 Determine battery’s state of charge by followingthe instructions and chart in section 10.
